Re-Elect Korleen Carreras For Maple Ridge City Council

"We can't sit back and maintain the status quo. We are taking bold action to make sure Maple Ridge is the best community possible."

Korleen has spent more than a decade in public service, first on the Maple Ridge–Pitt Meadows School Board and now on Maple Ridge City Council. She was first elected to the School Board in 2014, served as Chair from 2018 to 2022, and was elected to Council in 2022.

Before politics, she spent a decade building something else entirely: a dance studio she bought at nineteen and grew from 200 students to more than 400, managing staff and day-to-day operations for families who relied on it. That experience shaped a simple focus: make sure the systems people rely on actually work.

The places we build shape the community we become.

On Council, that means keeping pace with a growing city:

  • Parks and recreation spaces that stay accessible
  • Infrastructure that supports growth
  • Services that people can depend on as demand increases

It also means improving how City Hall works behind the scenes so decisions don't just get made, they get delivered.

Because growth only works if the city keeps up with it.

Since being elected to Council, Korleen has helped bring almost three-quarters of the city's policies and bylaws up to date, some hadn't been touched in over twenty years, and helped secure funding to widen Golden Ears Way and extend Abernethy Way, work that gets people home to their families faster.

She currently sits on Metro Vancouver's Regional Planning Committee and the City's Audit and Finance Committee, and previously served six years on the Maple Ridge–Pitt Meadows Arts Council, including a term as President.

A Better Maple Ridge is a team of neighbours from across this community who believe local government works best when it stays focused on local solutions.

We're building something here, and there's a place in it for you!
